What does “hoi” mean?

❋ The name Hoi Studio is inspired by Haley’s Chinese heritage, drawn from the characters "海" (hǎi), meaning sea, symbolizing openness and fluidity, and "鎧" (kǎi), meaning armor, representing resilience and grit.

❋ Hoi "鎧" also Haley’s middle name. It is a personal reflection of her journey. These origins reflect her love for exploration, fascination with different cultures, and passion for adventure and discovery. At the heart of it all is Haley’s drive to tell stories that truly connect through her designs.

❋ After over four years in e-commerce, sales, and marketing, I left the 'same-same grind to follow my passion for design. Since then, I’ve lived, studied, and traveled across Australia, Southeast Asia & Hong Kong, gathering stories and experiences that fuel my creativity.
